Scope of Service Experience
Mr. Zugsmith founded Zugsmith & Associates in 1979 as a full service commercial real estate brokerage in the San Fernando Valley. After the 1981 purchase of Paul Ellis & Company, a major Valley competitor, Zugsmith & Associates opened a second office in West Los Angeles. In 1990 Zugsmith & Associates merged with Thind Commercial Brokerage Company, a major West Los Angeles competitor, to form Zugsmith-Thind, Inc.

In 1995 Zugsmith–Thind changed it’s name to Capital Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc., and subsequently opened offices in Ventura County, Simi Valley, the Conejo Valley, Orange County, Kern County and the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties), purchased the brokerage assets of Matlow-Kennedy Corporation which consisted of offices in Downtown Los Angeles and the South Bay, formed Capital Commercial Property management and joined NAI as its exclusive member for Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and southern Kern Counties using the dba NAI Capital Commercial.

Currently, Capital Commercial has eleven full service commercial real estate brokerage offices throughout the six southern California counties which are staffed by more than 150 experienced brokerage professionals. Capital Commercial Property Management, centrally located in Culver City, manages over 185 properties (100 residential income and 85 commercial), with an aggregate value in excess of $400 million.
Education
Michael A. Zugsmith graduated from Los Angeles Valley College with an A.A. degree in Journalism in 1973, U.C.L.A. with a B.A. degree in Communication Studies in 1976 and did graduate studies in Law at Southwestern University.
Background & Experience
Mike Zugsmith has leased or supervised leasing of more than fifty million square feet of commercial space. He has sold or supervised sales of more than three billion dollars worth of shopping centers, office buildings, apartments, and land for development. Transactions brokered by Mr. Zugsmith and the corporation have exceeded twenty billion dollars.
Professional Affiliations & Designations
An active participant in local civic organizations and charities, Mr. Zugsmith was appointed by the late Los Angeles City Council President, John Ferraro, to serve on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the Ventura/Cahuenga Specific Plan, is a founding member of the Real Estate Industry Alliance for the City of Hope, a member of the Real Estate and Construction Cabinet of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation and a Guardian of the Jewish Home for the Aging. Mr. Zugsmith also serves as the Chairman of the NAI Leadership Board for 2003.
